XML DOM createElement() method

Definition and Usage

createElement() Method creates an element node.

This method returns an Element object.

Syntax

createElement(name)
Parameters Description
name String, specifies the name of the element node.

Example

The following code loads "books.xml" into xmlDoc and adds an element node with a text node containing text to each <book> element:

var xhttp = new XMLHttpRequest();
xhttp.onreadystatechange = function() {
   if (this.readyState == 4 && this.status == 200) {
       myFunction(this);
   }
